What does “Remove line breaks” do?

It joins all lines into one. With the space option on, each newline is replaced with a single space and hyphenated line breaks (e.g. soft-wrapped text) are joined without a space.

How does “Add line breaks every N characters” work?

Your text is re-wrapped so that no line exceeds N characters. Word boundaries are not respected — breaks happen exactly every N characters.

How does “After each sentence” work?

A line break is inserted after every terminal punctuation mark (. ! ?) optionally followed by a quote or bracket, then whitespace. Useful for splitting a paragraph into one-sentence-per-line.

What does “Keep existing line breaks” do?

In Add mode, the default is to flatten your text first. Turn this on to apply breaks only inside existing lines without removing the original paragraph structure.
