What does “Use regex” do?

It treats your “Find” field as a JavaScript regular expression. For example, \d+ matches one or more digits. Invalid patterns show a friendly error toast.

Are all matches replaced, or just the first?

All of them. We use the global flag internally, so every non-overlapping match is replaced.

Can I use capture groups in the replacement?

Yes — in regex mode you can use $1, $2, etc. to reference capture groups, just like String.prototype.replace().

Is the case-sensitive toggle ignored in regex mode?

No. It controls the “i” flag — off means case-insensitive, on means case-sensitive.

What happens if “Find” is empty?

The output equals the input and no matches are counted, so you can safely clear the field.
