Does this convert between currencies?

No. This tool only formats a number using a currency's symbol and conventions (e.g. 1234.56 → $1,234.56). It does not perform currency conversion — no exchange rates are fetched.

Why no live exchange rates?

EasyFileKit is 100% client-side and never makes network requests, so we can't fetch rates. For formatting only, the browser's built-in Intl API is all you need.

What's compact notation?

It shortens large numbers: 1,234,567 becomes “$1.2M” in short form, “$1.2 million” in long form. Useful for dashboards and headlines.

Can I get accounting style (parentheses for negatives)?

Yes — the accounting variant wraps negative values in parentheses, e.g. ($1,234.56), which is standard in financial statements.

Which locale is used?

Your browser's default locale (Intl.NumberFormat() with no locale argument). The currency symbol and grouping will follow that locale's conventions.
